An incredible pattern featuring a 4 block layout with a rare to find medallion center wreath with hearts. The blocks connect in the center to create the wreath.

A whig rose pattern and with the hearts, I believe this was made to be a wedding gift quilt. 

Fabrics in overdye green and turkey red. 

c 1870-90s

Measures 77 x 76 inches

The finest hand quilting with feathers at 10 stitches per inch.

The applique is hand sewn.

The quilt appears possibly never washed. Some age spotting in places and no wear.

The collection notes say this quilt was purchased at a show and originated in Lancaster County Pennsylvania.
