Our Story

GB Best Antique Quilts began with a simple love for beautiful, well-made quilts and the history stitched into every piece.

In the early 1980s, we started collecting antique quilts throughout Pennsylvania and across the country, carefully searching estates and homes for special pieces that deserved to be preserved. What began as a passion for textiles grew into decades of experience handling and studying antique and vintage quilts.

In 1998, we opened our quilt shop on eBay and have proudly served collectors around the world ever since. Over the years, we’ve shipped thousands of quilts to new homes and earned the trust of customers through honest descriptions, careful packaging, and personal service.

Every quilt you see in our shop is personally hand selected by us. We travel, source, and evaluate each piece ourselves and do not use pickers or outside buyers. This hands on approach allows us to offer a carefully curated collection filled with quality, character, and history.

Family Traditions

Our story and the inspiration behind drawing, quilt making, quilt collecting, and eventually selling begins with my grandmother.

She was a noted artist who excelled at an all-male college on an art scholarship in the late 1920s. She painted throughout her entire life. The photo above captures her family posing for a journal article in The Long Island Star-Journal, written about her life as both an artist and a mother of seven, working and creating during that era.

As a child, I was surrounded by beautiful works of art. I was drawn to the rich colors in her paintings. Over time, I began collecting quilts because I was captivated by their color and design, viewing them as works of art much like the paintings I grew up admiring.

Collecting quilts became a lifelong passion, and I truly owe it all to what I first saw on canvas.
