Outstanding quilting in this very special New York beauty quilt!
The quilt was found with a note written in German. On back there was a name Harris Wells 1783-1866 given to Rachel Wells of Pasadena, CA.
We had a quilt friend that gave some of the information in the note. The quilt was purchased at a high end auction in New York state. It goes on to describe where this person thinks the quilt was from. This was just an opinion. After showing the quilt to several quilt experts, it was determined possibly the quilt originated in New York. One expert referenced the top of flowers this quilt had and those found in New York. You might want to do your own research and see what can be found with the name.
The quilting is breathtaking with fine stipple work that covers the background of the quilt.
